Directions This is perfect for our troops, or for those who have to work outside in the cold but still need their fingers to be free. Instructions are for worsted weight first with DK weight in parentheses. Need about 100 yds for a pair. This is knit like the cuff of a sock with an opening for the thumb.
Materials: Worsted weight (DK) WOOL and size 6 (4) double pointed needles. Wool, alpaca, wool blends all work great!
Cast on 40 (48) stitches and join in the round. Work in K2 P2 Ribbing for about 5 inches. Bind off 6 stitches at beginning of next round. As you work the next round, cast on 6 stitches where you bound them off previously. Work another 8 rounds and then bind off. If you have enough yarn, you can make the hand part longer than 8 rounds - so it goes farther up the hand toward the fingers.
