Random Squares (CHALLENGE BLANKET)

Directions This pattern is meant to be used to make squares with your leftover yarns and sewn together to make charity blankets. We are making them for the people of Afghanistan, having the military distribute our knitted pieces during their humanitarian missions. BRING OR SEND YOUR BLOCKS TO EITHER STORE. REVISED REQUEST: Please make your blocks in sets of 4 and sew them together and weave in all ends. Thank you! This will really help us make more blankets to send.

Materials: Use WOOL OR WOOL BLEND yarn in worsted weight and size 8 needles.(we will not use acrylic squares since they just aren't warm enough).
Gauge: 4 st/ inch.

Cast on 48 stitches. Work in stockinette stitch - decreases are on knit rows. ALL EVEN ROWS ARE TO BE PURLED. Use two colors per block and change colors every 6 rows (where * begins row). PLEASE carry your yarns up the side and DON'T CUT with every color change. Leave a long tail at the beginning and end for use in sewing the squares together. Weave in any other ends PLEASE!
